decode(a, encoding=None, errors=None)

The set of available codecs comes from the Python standard library, and may be extended at runtime. For more information, see the codecs module.

Notes

The type of the result will depend on the encoding specified.

Parameters

a : array_like of str or unicode
encoding : str, optional

The name of an encoding

errors : str, optional

Specifies how to handle encoding errors

Returns

out : ndarray

Calls :None:None:`str.decode` element-wise.

Examples

>>> c = np.array(['aAaAaA', '  aA  ', 'abBABba'])
... c array(['aAaAaA', ' aA ', 'abBABba'], dtype='<U7')
>>> np.char.encode(c, encoding='cp037')
array(['\x81\xc1\x81\xc1\x81\xc1', '@@\x81\xc1@@',
    '\x81\x82\xc2\xc1\xc2\x82\x81'],
    dtype='|S7')

Local connectivity graph

Hover to see nodes names; edges to Self not shown, Caped at 50 nodes.

Using a canvas is more power efficient and can get hundred of nodes ; but does not allow hyperlinks; , arrows or text (beyond on hover)

SVG is more flexible but power hungry; and does not scale well to 50 + nodes.

All aboves nodes referred to, (or are referred from) current nodes; Edges from Self to other have been omitted (or all nodes would be connected to the central node "self" which is not useful). Nodes are colored by the library they belong to, and scaled with the number of references pointing them
