matplotlib 3.5.1

Other ParametersParametersBackRef
locator_params(axis='both', tight=None, **kwargs)

Because the locator is involved in autoscaling, :None:None:`~.Axes.autoscale_view` is called automatically after the parameters are changed.

Other Parameters

**kwargs :

Remaining keyword arguments are passed to directly to the set_params() method of the locator. Supported keywords depend on the type of the locator. See for example ~.ticker.MaxNLocator.set_params for the .ticker.MaxNLocator used by default for linear axes.

Parameters

axis : {'both', 'x', 'y'}, default: 'both'

The axis on which to operate.

tight : bool or None, optional

Parameter passed to :None:None:`~.Axes.autoscale_view`. Default is None, for no change.

Control behavior of major tick locators.

Examples

ax.locator_params(tight=True, nbins=4)

Local connectivity graph

Hover to see nodes names; edges to Self not shown, Caped at 50 nodes.

Using a canvas is more power efficient and can get hundred of nodes ; but does not allow hyperlinks; , arrows or text (beyond on hover)

SVG is more flexible but power hungry; and does not scale well to 50 + nodes.

All aboves nodes referred to, (or are referred from) current nodes; Edges from Self to other have been omitted (or all nodes would be connected to the central node "self" which is not useful). Nodes are colored by the library they belong to, and scaled with the number of references pointing them
