ParametersRaisesReturns
warning

The list of executables that this function supports is set according to Matplotlib's internal needs, and may change without notice.

Parameters

name : str

The executable to query. The following values are currently supported: "dvipng", "gs", "inkscape", "magick", "pdftops". This list is subject to change without notice.

Raises

ExecutableNotFoundError

If the executable is not found or older than the oldest version supported by Matplotlib.

ValueError

If the executable is not one that we know how to query.

Returns

tuple

A namedtuple with fields executable (:None:None:`str`) and version (:None:None:`packaging.Version`, or None if the version cannot be determined).

Get the version of some executable that Matplotlib optionally depends on.

Examples

See :

Local connectivity graph

Hover to see nodes names; edges to Self not shown, Caped at 50 nodes.

Using a canvas is more power efficient and can get hundred of nodes ; but does not allow hyperlinks; , arrows or text (beyond on hover)

SVG is more flexible but power hungry; and does not scale well to 50 + nodes.

All aboves nodes referred to, (or are referred from) current nodes; Edges from Self to other have been omitted (or all nodes would be connected to the central node "self" which is not useful). Nodes are colored by the library they belong to, and scaled with the number of references pointing them
