ParametersReturnsBackRef
match(self, pat, case=True, flags=0, na=None)

Parameters

pat : str

Character sequence or regular expression.

case : bool, default True

If True, case sensitive.

flags : int, default 0 (no flags)

Regex module flags, e.g. re.IGNORECASE.

na : scalar, optional

Fill value for missing values. The default depends on dtype of the array. For object-dtype, numpy.nan is used. For StringDtype , pandas.NA is used.

Returns

Series/Index/array of boolean values

Determine if each string starts with a match of a regular expression.

See Also

contains

Analogous, but less strict, relying on re.search instead of re.match.

extract

Extract matched groups.

fullmatch

Stricter matching that requires the entire string to match.

Local connectivity graph

Hover to see nodes names; edges to Self not shown, Caped at 50 nodes.

Using a canvas is more power efficient and can get hundred of nodes ; but does not allow hyperlinks; , arrows or text (beyond on hover)

SVG is more flexible but power hungry; and does not scale well to 50 + nodes.

All aboves nodes referred to, (or are referred from) current nodes; Edges from Self to other have been omitted (or all nodes would be connected to the central node "self" which is not useful). Nodes are colored by the library they belong to, and scaled with the number of references pointing them
