draw_kamada_kawai(G, **kwargs)

This is a convenience function equivalent to:

nx.draw(G, pos=nx.kamada_kawai_layout(G), **kwargs)

Notes

The layout is computed each time this function is called. For repeated drawing it is much more efficient to call ~networkx.drawing.layout.kamada_kawai_layout directly and reuse the result:

>>> G = nx.complete_graph(5)
>>> pos = nx.kamada_kawai_layout(G)
>>> nx.draw(G, pos=pos)  # Draw the original graph
>>> # Draw a subgraph, reusing the same node positions
>>> nx.draw(G.subgraph([0, 1, 2]), pos=pos, node_color="red")

Parameters

G : graph

A networkx graph

kwargs : optional keywords

See draw_networkx for a description of optional keywords.

Draw the graph G with a Kamada-Kawai force-directed layout.

Hover to see nodes names; edges to Self not shown, Caped at 50 nodes.

Using a canvas is more power efficient and can get hundred of nodes ; but does not allow hyperlinks; , arrows or text (beyond on hover)

SVG is more flexible but power hungry; and does not scale well to 50 + nodes.

All aboves nodes referred to, (or are referred from) current nodes; Edges from Self to other have been omitted (or all nodes would be connected to the central node "self" which is not useful). Nodes are colored by the library they belong to, and scaled with the number of references pointing them
